In the Rapex alert of Friday 5 February, 38 products were recalled from the European Union. In Spain, three products were recalled, all of them electrical appliances.<\/p>\n
In relation to the cosmetics sector<\/strong>, 6 products have been the subject of a warning. Firstly, the UK has withdrawn a hair dye, manufactured by Bigen and of unknown origin, for containing in its list of ingredients sodium perborate, banned by the Regulation because it can be toxic if inhaled, can cause eye damage and respiratory irritation. The second and third, also in the UK, were hair dyes, manufactured by Blasol and JR Beauty, both of unknown origin, and have been withdrawn for the same reason as the first, i.e. containing sodium perborate, and therefore not complying with the Regulation.<\/p>\n The fourth cosmetic recalled was a glue for false nails. Rapex did not consider it to be a cosmetic, but a chemical product, as has been the case in the past. The article, manufactured in Taiwan by the company Mirage, was recalled because it contained a high concentration of chloroform, and therefore did not comply with the REACH Regulation.<\/p>\n The fifth was a tooth whitening cream, manufactured by Pearlsmile in Germany, which contained sodium perborate and did not comply with the Regulation. And the sixth and last, a facial peeling cream, manufactured in Spain by Salerm Cosmetics -Homme, which the Czech Republic has withdrawn for not complying with the Regulation, as it contained isobutylparaben among its ingredients.
