Her talk was entitled \u00abEuropean Regulations on Medical Devices: a renewed legal framework in line with the sector\u2019s impact and innovation\u00bb. Indeed, it was the first session on medical devices in the history of the RAFC.<\/p>\n<p>The event was organised by Section III (Industrial Pharmacy) and Section V (History, Legislation and Ethics) of the Academy. And it was a great success in terms of attendance. The RAFC\u2019s auditorium was packed to the rafters. Some people even had to stand throughout the session. Session on Medical Devices led by Carmen Abad (AEMPS).<\/p><\/div>\n<h3><strong>Carmen Abad\u2019s lecture, on the Academy\u2019s website.<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>The Royal Academy promotes the dissemination of knowledge regarding the regulations affecting products in the sector. For this reason, it has decided to publish the presentation given by the AEMPS expert. From today, it is available in the <a href=\"http:\/\/rafc.cat\/es\/cat\/publicaciones-apartado\/otras-publicaciones\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Other publications<\/a> from its website, in PDF format.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>This document is of great interest for two reasons:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Firstly, because Carmen Abad, by virtue of her position at the AEMPS, speaks on behalf of the agency. Therefore, everything she says is an official statement. And she is speaking on behalf of the Spanish Agency for Medicines and Health Products.<\/li>\n<li>Secondly, because the new Regulations on Medical Devices and IVDs were published on 5 May, and this was the first time that someone from the AEMPS had spoken publicly about the new legal framework.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3><strong>Let\u2019s remember: there are new Regulations on Medical Devices and IVDs<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>For anyone involved in the sector, it is worth noting that two have been published\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/mcamps.com\/reglamento-2017-745-prod-sanitarios\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">New Medical Devices Regulations<\/a>.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The\u00a0<strong>Regulation 2017\/745 on Medical Devices, <\/strong>which comprises 175 pages, 123 articles, 10 chapters and 16 appendices)<\/li>\n<li>And the <strong>Regulation 2017\/746 on In Vitro Diagnostic Medical Devices<\/strong>\u00a0-IVD\u2019s, comprising 157 pages, 113 articles, 10 chapters and 15 appendices).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>For further information on the new regulations governing medical devices, please do not hesitate to contact our office. <strong>Our proposal: Solutions!\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>M\u00aa Carmen Abad Luna, Jefa de Departamento de Productos Sanitarios de la Agencia Espa\u00f1ola de Medicamentos y Productos Sanitarios (AEMPS), ofreci\u00f3 el pasado 10 de mayo una conferencia sobre Productos Sanitarios en la Reial Acad\u00e8mia de Farm\u00e0cia de Catalunya.
