The AEMPS has announced that on 4 May 2020 it will close the PMPS application for market authorisation notifications for medical devices. This application, which was replaced in July 2018 by the new CCPS (Medical Device Marketing Notifications), still allows users to view and download notifications stored on its server.
Dear customers,
Closing the PMPS application – On 18 June 2018, the new CCPS application for submitting marketing notifications for medical devices came into operation. Prior to this date, marketing authorisation notifications were submitted via the PMPS application, which ceased to be operational on 4 July 2018 and was replaced by CCPS. Since then, PMPS has been used solely available for you to view your messages and they were required to update them by retrieving them from CCPS, as notified in due course via information note on the AEMPS website and via a notice on the front page of the PMPS homepage.
The AEMPS has announced that on 4 May 2020, the PMPS application will be permanently shut down due to the obsolescence of the server on which it is hosted, meaning that the communications stored on it will no longer be accessible.
PMPS application: final days before the deadline
Any correspondence that you wish to view and update must be retrieved and imported into the new CCPS application.
Although it will not be possible to view PMPS communications after that date, it will always be possible to retrieve them; however, the AEMPS recommends that you retrieve them beforehand in case you need to view the content before doing so. You can also download the content of your communications before 4 May.
Once retrieved in CCPS, communications may remain in the “Retrieved draft” status pending completion and submission to the AEMPS, provided their content remains up to date; they can therefore be submitted gradually as and when updates are required.
We would like to remind you of the obligation to keep all contact details up to date and to notify us of any cancellation due to the cessation of trading.
Notifications that are to be withdrawn must also be retrieved – even if the documentation is not updated – and sent to the AEMPS via CCPS, from where the company can then withdraw them in order to ensure that the traceability of the notifications is properly maintained.
