Rapex alerts for EU consumers have been withdrawn this week 28 products on the market. This figure is quite low when compared with most weeks, and, furthermore, on this occasion, not a single product has been banned in Spain.
With regard to the cosmetics sector, Germany has withdrawn a henna-based make-up product, manufactured in Pakistan by Arzoo, because it contains the following ingredients: phenol, a substance that can cause irritation and damage the skin and eyes, and therefore did not comply with the Regulation. France, for its part, has withdrawn a children’s make-up set – this time classified as a cosmetic rather than a toy – manufactured by KTN in Germany, because it contained isopropylparaben, an ingredient prohibited by the Regulation.
The rest of discontinued products have mainly been from the retail sector, electrical goods and toys.
