This week's Rapex alert has recalled 31 products in the European Union. In Spain, there has been only one ban: the authorities have recalled a set of beach toys for children, of Chinese origin, which did not comply with the Toy Safety Directive because one of its components could be disassembled and accidentally swallowed.
While there have been a large number of product recalls related to automobiles, toys and electrical appliances, the cosmetics sector has remained unrestricted this week.
In any case, we would like to point out that Italy has withdrawn a tattoo ink of the brand Eternal Ink, manufactured in the USA, because it contains aromatic amines o-anisidine and o-toluidine, a carcinogenic substance, which can cause mutation of cells and affect reproduction, and which is banned by European tattooing regulations ResAP (2008)1.
