Here is the Rapex Report for EU consumers last Friday, 9 September. And the good news continues on the Spanish market. As was the case last week, no products have been reported within our borders.
Rapex bans in the cosmetics sector
As regards the cosmetics sector, according to Rapex, there has only been one ban. This concerned a toothpaste, which was withdrawn because it contained an ingredient prohibited by the Regulation. Furthermore, the sample was contaminated. However, from our point of view, there have been four alerts. The difference is due to the fact that, according to the European rapid alert system, the soap bubble toys are regarded as toys. Furthermore, these items were withdrawn on the basis of the Toy Safety Directive. In our view, however, they should be treated as cosmetics. And we believe that, in the case of soap, this classification is even clearer.
