Rapex Report, July 2019 – In the first week of July, Rapex alerts led to the recall of an eyeshadow, manufactured in China, which contained high levels of lead. This substance is harmful to human health, particularly to the reproductive system. It is especially not recommended for pregnant women and breastfeeding babies. .

Rapex Report 12 July 2019

In the report dated Friday 12 May, the Rapex system withdrew as many as 44 products. However, none of these were withdrawn at the request of the Spanish authorities, who have not been in touch for months. In the cosmetics sector, an eyelash-enhancing serum has been withdrawn because it contains bimatoprost, an ingredient used in ophthalmic medicine, which should only be administered by a healthcare professional.

Rapex Report 19 July 2019

Rapex Report, July 2019 –  Of the huge number of products recalled in the EU this week – 65 products is a large number for the RAPEX system – only one of them was from the cosmetics sector. A henna hair dye that was contaminated with mesophilic aerobic bacteria, yeasts and moulds, and which therefore did not comply with the Cosmetics Regulation 1223/2009 on cosmetic products.
In the Toys category, a soap bubble product has also been withdrawn due to contamination. However, in this case, in addition to mesophilic aerobic bacteria, the soap also contained Pseudomonas aeruginosa.

Rapex Report 26 July 2019

In the latest Rapex report for July, published on Friday 26th, 38 products were recalled across the EU. Of these, none were recalled at the request of the Spanish authorities. 
In the cosmetics sector, three products were withdrawn due to contamination with mesophilic aerobic bacteria: the Finnish authorities reported a baby perfume from Denmark, and the Irish authorities reported two hair henna products originating from India.
